Docetaxel-induced photolichenoid eruption

چکیده
A 58-year-old man presented with complaints of blackish discoloration of forearms and face of five months duration. The lesions occurred episodically after taking anti-cancer medications, each episode lasting for two weeks. Histopathology confirmed a lichenoid eruption. Photolichenoid eruption to docetaxel is a dermatological adverse effect not reported in literature earlier.

Persistent docetaxel-induced supravenous erythematous eruption*
Taxanes are drugs used to treat many types of cancer, including breast and lung cancer. The most common side effects of these drugs are neutropenia and mucositis. Signs of skin toxicity are observed in about 65% of cases and include alopecia, hypersensitivity reactions, persistent supravenous erythematous eruption, nail changes, scleroderma reactions and others. We report two cases of skin reac...
متن کاملPhotosensitive rash in association with porphyrin biosynthesis possibly induced by docetaxel and trastuzumab therapy in a patient with metastatic breast carcinoma.
Docetaxel (Taxotere), an anticancer agent, is known to cause various reactions, including hypersensitivity, oedema, skin toxicity with erythrodysesthesia syndrome, infusion site reactions, alopecia, nail onycholysis, nail pigmentation, photosensitivity, scleroderma and stomatitis. However, of all the reported effects, photosensitivity has only rarely been described in the literature. We experie...
متن کاملSerpentine supravenous hyperpigmentation
Serpentine supravenous hyperpigmentation is a peculiar cutaneous eruption that follows the path of vein after intravenous injection of the chemotherapeutic agent. The lesions gradually resolve spontaneously if administration of the offending agent is stopped through the affected limb. Drugs such as 5-fluorouracil, docetaxel, vinorelbine, hydroxychloroquine, fotemustine, and minocycline are impl...
متن کاملPF-00477736 mediates checkpoint kinase 1 signaling pathway and potentiates docetaxel-induced efficacy in xenografts.
PURPOSE Checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) plays a critical role in the activation of mitotic spindle checkpoint and DNA damage checkpoint. We examined the preclinical use of the Chk1 inhibitor PF-00477736 as a docetaxel-sensitizing agent. Specifically, we investigated the correlation between PF-00477736-mediated modulation of biomarkers and the sensitization of docetaxel efficacy. EXPERIMENTAL DESIG...
متن کاملDocetaxel induced-JNK2/PHD1 signaling pathway increases degradation of HIF-1α and causes cancer cell death under hypoxia
HIF-1 (hypoxia-inducible factor-1) regulates the expression of more than 70 genes involved in angiogenesis, tumor growth, metastasis, chemoresistance, and radioresistance. Thus, there is growing interest in using HIF-1 inhibitors as anticancer drugs. Docetaxel, a Food and Drug Administration-approved anticancer drug, is reported to enhance HIF-1α degradation. Here, we investigated the molecular...
